Six days gives us plenty of time to really experience these very popular parks and all the wildlife wonders they hold. Amboseli and Masai Mara are known for their great numbers of large and small game. Offering lots of sightings in these two busy reserves.

At Lake Naivasha and nearby parks, you’ll have the fun of sailing, walking, and bicycling safaris to get near the animals. This medium-length safari will have you exploring all this wonderful destinations and all the natural wildlife that are waiting for your discovery.

 

Day 1 – Nairobi to Masai Mara

Pick up from Nairobi hotel or Airport in the morning. Drive to Masai Mara a 5 hour drive to the main gate, via The Great African Rift Valley escarpment and the famous Masai Town, Narok. Check in at the camp/lodge for  lunch. Afternoon game drive through the park in search of the Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other members of the Big five plus other animals. Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge.

Day 2 – Masai Mara

Early morning game drive and return to camp for breakfast. After breakfast Full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents, The Masai Mara plains are full of wildebeest during migration season early July to end September, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle are regularly seen, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Black rhino are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, who lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures. later Meals and overnight at Ashnil Mara camp or Sarova Mara game Camp.

Masai village and balloon safaris optional

Optional visit to Masai Village for a cultural tour can be arranged at extra cost of $25 per person. Also optional hot air balloon ride can be arranged this morning, then proceed with your game drive – $450 per person.

Day 3 – Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

Wake up early in the morning and have a short morning game drive in the park. Return to Camp/Lodge for Breakfast.checkout and Depart to Lake Naivasha. It is the highest and the most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes .At 1910m (6200f), the water is fresh and the lake is fringed with dense clumps of papyrus (ancient Egyptian once used this to make paper). Kingfishers use the papyrus as a perch, herons hide in it while searching for food.

Check-in to your camp/lodge and then proceed for Boat Ride to Crescent Island where you will be doing a nature walk next to zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, waterbucks, antelopes and many types of birds. Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge.

Day 4 – Lake Naivasha to Amboseli

We’ll get an early morning start and drive to Amboseli National Park. Check-in at the accommodation and have lunch. In the afternoon we go on a game drive. Amboseli National Park is situated due south of Nairobi – most of the park consists of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while in the southern area there is a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol Kenya, Ol Tukai, and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms. Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge.

Day 5 – Amboseli

After breakfast early in the morning ,then morning game drive  with a good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit with packed lunch provided or back to the camp/ lodge for lunch .

An optional visit to a Masai village can be planned after breakfast.

A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephants at close range. Less harassed by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps will form the highlights of any safari.

Note : Since Amboseli is relatively hot, game drives around noon are not usually recommended but can be arranged if you are interested.

Day 6 – Amboseli to Nairobi

Wake up early in the morning and proceed to Amboseli for game drives around 6:15 AM. Continue with game drives till around 9:00 AM and then head back to camp for breakfast. After breakfast, check out from camp and proceed to Nairobi to reach by around 3:00 PM.
